“Let’s act it out!” – Acting out scenes and stories in the middle school

Acting out scenes in the classroom is fun. It is also an effective way of helping pupils to connect to and understand readers. On this course we will look at how to get pupils speaking and acting out scenes in class. We will look at how acting can be used to understand texts and learn vocabulary. We will also look at how to prepare a scene or a short play for parents and the school. Starting with examples, we will act out scenes ourselves to get hands-on experience. From here we will move on to develop individual ideas.
